Manuscript reading
A future service that names the reader and explains exactly what response to expect.
Talty Literary is developing possible manuscript-reading formats. It is not accepting manuscripts or offering consultations now.
Talty Literary is a literary-education program in development. No class, reading, or consultation is currently open for registration.
Before pages move
The reader and the terms come first.
Describe the work without attaching it.
An initial inquiry may identify the genre, length, stage, central questions, and kind of response sought.
Name the reader.
If a service is eventually offered, Talty Literary will identify the person responsible and explain their relevant experience.
Agree on the boundaries.
Pages, fee, timing, response, meetings, privacy, file handling, and retention will be stated before a manuscript is accepted.
Keep the writer in authority.
The response belongs to the named reader; the writer decides what to use.
Do not send a manuscript through the general contact address.
No manuscript service is currently available. The Manuscript Policy records the human-review and file-handling boundary that must govern any future service.
