These Terms govern use of taltyliterary.com and participation in Talty Literary offerings. These Terms are provided for transparency and are not legal advice.

What Talty Literary Offers

Talty Literary is a faculty-driven literary school and events platform for writers, readers, and serious literary conversation. Offerings may include courses, workshops, lectures, mentorships, author conversations, readings, reader programs, and literary events led by Morgan Talty and invited faculty.

Offer-Specific Terms

Prices, deposits, refund deadlines, cancellation rules, schedules, instructors, capacity, manuscript requirements, recording or replay rules, and deliverables are governed by the applicable course page, event page, checkout page, registration page, invoice, or written agreement. If a specific written term conflicts with these general Terms, the more specific written term controls for that offer.

The public website is currently inquiry-first. No payment should be made unless the applicable offer-specific terms are visible or provided in writing.

No Guaranteed Outcome

Talty Literary does not guarantee publication, agent representation, editor access, MFA admission, prizes, press, career advancement, book deals, acceptance by journals, sales, audience growth, or any specific writing outcome.

Participant Responsibilities

Participants are expected to treat instructors and other participants respectfully, protect the privacy of other writers’ work, submit only work they are allowed to share, follow course-specific submission, recording, AI, and participation rules, and avoid sharing private class materials without permission.

Participants must follow the separate Code of Conduct where it applies.

Manuscript Ownership And Instructor Materials

Participants retain ownership of their own drafts, exercises, submissions, and manuscripts. Talty Literary does not claim ownership of participant writing.

Instructors and Talty Literary may own or license course structures, slides, prompts, lectures, handouts, recordings, replay materials, and other instructional materials. Unless a course page or written agreement says otherwise, participants may use those materials for personal learning but may not redistribute, sell, publish, train systems on, or publicly post them without permission.

Recordings, Replays, And Class Privacy

Recording, replay, download, attendance, transcript, and confidentiality rules should be stated on the applicable course, event, or registration page. Participants should not record, publish, or distribute private class sessions, workshop discussions, manuscripts, or participant comments unless the relevant rules or written permission allow it.

AI And Manuscript Handling

AI use, manuscript handling, and participant privacy may be governed by the separate AI & Manuscript Policy and by offer-specific rules.

Payments, Cancellations, And Refunds

Prices, deposits, refunds, transfers, credits, missed-session rules, and cancellation deadlines are governed by the applicable offer page, registration page, checkout page, invoice, or written agreement. General refund information is available on the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Website Use

You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, copy or scrape materials in a way that violates applicable law, or use the site to transmit harmful, deceptive, unlawful, infringing, or privacy-violating material.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
