Teaching at Talty Literary

We're interested in hearing from writers who want to teach here.

Describe the subject, the students you have in mind, and the reading and writing they would do. Include the experience you would bring to teaching it.

The class

Make the course specific.

Give it a subject you can cover in the time available. Explain how the readings and exercises help participants learn, and what preparation you expect of them.

If Talty Literary publishes the class, your biography, class description, schedule, reading and feedback work, and full terms appear with it.

Emerging instructors

Support for a first teaching experience.

Qualified current and recent MFA, MA, and PhD writers can propose beginning classes. That route includes preparation, supervision, and direct feedback on the teaching.

Before anything goes public

Pay, schedule, ownership of teaching materials, reading and feedback, accessibility, recording, and each side's work go into a written agreement.

Send a short description first; keep private records and unpublished work out of the email.
