Give the workshop enough to help you.

A strong excerpt does not have to be perfect. It does need enough context, clarity, and intention for readers to understand what kind of help you want.

Before You Submit

  • Follow the page limit exactly.
  • Use readable formatting unless the course page says otherwise.
  • Add a short note naming the form, project stage, and what kind of feedback would help.
  • Do not submit pages you are not ready to discuss.
  • Remove private information that classmates do not need to see.
  • Check the course page for recording, AI, and manuscript privacy rules.

Helpful Context To Include

  • Is this fiction, nonfiction, hybrid, memoir, essay, chapter, scene, or opening?
  • Is it early draft, mid-revision, or near-final?
  • What are you most worried about?
  • What should readers not focus on yet?
