Start with the problem your writing actually has.

A raw course catalog can make writers choose by title alone. A better question is: what does the work need next?

If You Need Momentum

Choose a generative class, prompt-based session, reading group, or foundations workshop. You probably do not need heavy critique yet.

If You Need Craft Language

Choose a lecture, seminar, craft talk, or reading-like-a-writer course. This is useful when you can sense a problem but do not yet have the language for it.

If You Have Pages Ready

Choose a small feedback workshop, first-pages intensive, or revision lab. Look for clear page limits, feedback methods, instructor expectations, and manuscript policies.

If You Have A Larger Project

Consider mentorship or a multi-week revision course. A larger project usually needs structure, accountability, and a plan rather than one night of scattered notes.

If You Are Mostly A Reader

Choose author conversations, readings, book-centered lectures, reading groups, or reader programs. Talty Literary is for readers as well as writers.
